ABOUT US

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are far-reaching and dynamic. The Accelerator Lab team of UNDP Cambodia has developed several dashboards to demonstrate the socio-economic impact of the pandemic on tourism and mobility, on informal workers and on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Showcasing real-time data that is updated weekly, the dashboards can aid in determining the vulnerabilities that have arisen due to the onset of the pandemic. The types of vulnerabilities range from reduced mobility to changes to individuals’ incomes or even changes in the profits of MSMEs. The data has been collected from trusted traditional and non-traditional sources such as UN agencies, surveys conducted with MSMEs and workers, as well as geolocation and mapping data.

These dashboards can be used to generate insights on the type of recovery interventions that will be necessary for specific demographic and geographic groups of individuals and MSMEs. By examining trends in Cambodia from periods before and throughout the pandemic, there is an opportunity to examine pre-existing, exacerbated, and newly onset vulnerabilities. This will allow for a more targeted approach in supporting sectors, industries, and individuals to build back better.
